Clarendale memory care provides a specially designed, whole-person approach to Alzheimer’s care and dementia care. Residents live in a warm and friendly, family-like neighborhood with the safety of 24-hour onsite security and the compassionate care of highly trained personnel who implement proven memory care programs that encourage and celebrate remaining abilities. Engaging opportunities and activities keep residents active, social and far from boredom. It would be virtually impossible to duplicate this level of around-the-clock safety, sense of community, activity and socialization, plus specific expertise in Alzheimer’s care using an in-home care service.

While both assisted living and memory care provide assistance with the activities of daily living, such as help with bathing, dressing, grooming and medication management, memory care at Clarendale offers a specific type of compassionate care that is specially designed for those with memory impairment. It’s called Heartfelt CONNECTIONS, and each member of our memory care team is trained in the program. Engaging opportunities and activities keep residents active, social and far from boredom. With a much smaller footprint and more intimate setting, residents have more hands-on cuing, reminders and care. In addition, memory care residents live in safe and secure “neighborhoods” to promote socialization, and each individual residence offers purposeful design touches, like memory boxes outside each door and custom closets that put each day’s outfit within easy reach without question or confusion.

Lucky, they did look at places “just in case” so they knew what was out there. They ended up on a waitlist to move closer to family. It was HARD to leave a FOREVER home and caring neighbors. When we finally got a call, the unit was not the one they wanted, but the floor was. We decided to try. It came after 6 months waiting and we still we not really ready, but we gave it a shot. They staff is very welcoming and tries to learn even the family by name. The community is friendly. There are plenty of activities and loved ones are welcome. The dinning room is a nice restaurant. The staff works hard to learn names and preferences.There are times that are difficult or unexpected but we feel they listen/work to make things better. They offer the members time to meet with and discuss improvements with the staff. Maria- who is a fabulous “cruise director” Strives to make each person show and grow their own talents and interests. Linda, has helped me from the initial- we want a tour, to the will this fit in the room, to every what about this question! She has alway been responsive and found me an answer. Tina has stepped in as well. They have been listening ears and a shoulder to cry on and cheerleaders when things went better than expected. The maintenance staff is prompt, patient, and competent. The front desk staff are really the face and the people that can help at all times. They offer a smile or assistance as needed. My family and I are happy to have found a new second home and new friends that are growing into family. PS- consider making a move while you can plan and be in control or wait for the room/place you need. We have also had the pain of not being able to make those choices.

The main desk staff, the restaurant servers, the maintenance people, and the management team are all professional and personable. Clarendale-of-Addison's staff was comparable to a 5-Star resort!
